Illinois Hawks Findlay 16U win bid to ASA Hall of Fame Qualifier in OKC!
The Illinois Hawks Findlay 16U team took home the championship trophy at the Pekin ASA "February Shootout" and earned a bid to the ASA Hall of Fame Qualifier in Oklahoma City in June. The Hawks finished the tournament undefeated outscoring their opponents 30-7. The tournament featured twenty of the top teams in the area including teams from Indiana, Missouri, Wisconsin and Illinois. The Hawks beat the always tough White Sox Academy 11-1 in the semi-final and beat them again 4-1 in the final.
The Pekin tournament brought to an end a strong fall season for the Hawks Findlay team. Overall in the fall the team finished with a record of 31 wins and 7 loses. They ended the fall with an 11 game winning streak which also included a championship in the "Rumble in Rosemont" tournament in the new Rosemont Dome in January.
