The Illinois Hawks May 10u take 2nd place at the Pekin Dome March Classic

On Saturday, the Hawks played the Havoc and won that game 12-5. Along with, the strong pitching of Jenna Judge and the hitting/base stealing of the rest of the Hawks, the team moved on to the next game.
The next game on Saturday was against the Chatham Heat. The Hawks had another strong showing, this time with their young Hawk pitcher, Ella Hoffman.  She pitched 4 innings for the win, 11-7!!  Larissa Ortiz’s homerun blew the game wide open for the Hawks to win their second game in a row on Saturday.
On Sunday, the Hawks faced the Glen Ed Sliders.  Hawks impressively won that game 12-0, with the powerful pitching of Abby Dunning.  Abby struck out 5 of the Glen Ed Sliders. The Hawks had 8 hits that game.
The Championship game was against the Milan Aces.  Even with the combination of pitchers Kam Gonzales and Jenna Judge, the Hawks just didn’t have enough fire power this game to rise above the Milan Aces. The final score was 8-5.

All in all, the new Hawk 10u team played very well and showed that they belonged in the Championship!
